5S Overview VideoBy Jon Miller | Post Date: March 11, 2009 8:23 AM | Comments: 7 The launch of our online training service Gemba Academy is just days away. We have been busy at work readying online training courses for lean manufacturing, six sigma, project management and more. We will offer six month subscriptions which includes the online training, bonus material for download, access to forums and new content added each month. Unlike DVDs that do not change and become outdated over time, the information at Gemba Academy will always evolve and remain fresh, with input and requests from users like you. For now, please enjoy the first module of our 5S course. If you please visit the Gemba Academy site and leave us your e-mail to receive updates and be the first to see new content. Thanks for the comments, Chris. And, yes, we will most definitely shed more light on how to sustain in the course. Please stay tuned! But what it comes down to is 'clean up' with whatever creativity you have in you, and in whatever you do? Poster: Jan Eysermans | Post Date: March 20, 2009 1:46 AM Excellent idea for on-line training! Poster: Gabriela | Post Date: March 20, 2009 6:12 AM Hi Jan, Thanks for reading. Basically 5S does come down to "clean up" but there is a bit more to it. The key is to restore "good conditions" and make this visible, find out why things deteriorate (become messy again) and then take countermeasures. A few more points on that question in the article here. Very well presented.
Steps 1 - 4: Excellent - just as I would present them!
Step 5: Sustain - seemed a bit wooly, analogy of rope tension?. I hope your deep dive will shed more light on your thoughts of how to Sustain (I have my own ideas of course).
I look forward to more installments
