5S Gone WildBy Jon Miller | Post Date: February 23, 2010 12:11 PM | Comments: 7
I am pretty sure this was meant as a joke. Jeesh, you think they could have at least lined the label up with the crack on the ground. Slackers. Ha! Poster: Ron Pereira | Post Date: February 23, 2010 1:04 PM Ron: Maybe they were trying to show that 5S is not all that it is cracked up to be. :) Or, on the positive side, they were showing they have good grounds for using 5S!:0 Poster: Simon Ellberger | Post Date: February 23, 2010 8:20 PM Somebody checked the false ceilings?! That would have been really weird seeing another label hanging just above you...Talk about pushing the envelope up ;;; ;;; ;-) Poster: John Santomer | Post Date: February 23, 2010 10:23 PM That happened to us. In our case it was employees having fun with the process. Poster: Bob Wiese | Post Date: February 24, 2010 5:42 AM I have been reflecting lately about how important it is to have a business purpose or customer focus behind your improvements. I can't see how this label will help either. Is this a sign that the organization is haphardly applying Lean principles without knowing the outcome? Seems wasteful to me. While this may be a joke, is there some passive-agressiveness from the staff about their Lean transformation? Great photo Jon! Poster: Brian Buck | Post Date: February 24, 2010 8:16 AM The picture may (or may not) represent two things or more. First is that Lean, 5's or some "like" process is in progress at the location of the picture. An individual put this label there to gain the attention of those around him. Was he successful in getting attention? Obviously, enough so that he/she or someone on the team put the picture up for us all to ponder. Poster: Doug | Post Date: March 6, 2010 5:24 AM |

I really, really hope so...
