Ambiguous Visual Controls: Donut Shop Edition

shag carpet donut.jpg Always on the lookout for ambiguous visual controls, I spotted one today at the donut shop by our office during a stop for my morning coffee. These pastries which were clearly a tray of vintage 1970s Orange Shag Carpet donuts were misleadingly labeled as Spicy Dried Pork donuts. Buyer beware.

At least nothing was moving... Ha!

If that was anything, it certainly ain't pork looking to me...much less "Dried" or "Spicy". Wonder how'd Spicy Dried Pork look like? Would've made me jump if it moved...Ha ha ha ha! Koreans are known to eat a lot of weird things (eg. crickets, grasshoppers, scorpions...Spicy Dried Pork Donuts anyone?)

Are you sure that they were not Orange Shag Carpet donut Spies in disguise. Were they touch passing anything to the Cream Cakes next to them. Telling them to act like Meat Pies. LOL

Hi John. I love Korean food actually, but this was a donut shop in China. I think every country eats "weird things" when looked at from outside. Depends on what you grow up with.

Hey Jon,
I'm sorry if my comment sounded tinged with discrimination. It was unintended and I eat Korean food too but never actually got passed the "scorpion delight". I could try - eyes closed! Well, for the sake of Gemba I could gulp it down in one go. Particularly loved Korean "Kimchi" - one with the spicy "baechu" or cabbage. It really is good especially those made/fermented in less warmer areas of Korea that are prepared in "kimjang" as less pungent and spicy.

Pronounced "ro song," that looks exactly like dried, shredded pork. I grew up in Taiwan, and it's a common topping for watery rice--a breakfast dish. BOOYAH!

Hi Davida. It looks like orange shag carpet, but tastes like spicy dried pork, I am told. Yes the post is an attempt at humor.
