Room Service Menus Gone BadBy Jon Miller | Post Date: February 24, 2011 4:09 PM | Comments: 8
Telling the business traveler "you are in an inviable position" is bold but may not be the best way to sell freshly squeezed orange juice for 5 Euro per glass. The definition of "inviable" is "unable to sustain its own life" or "not capable of" doing something, being or growing. Technically speaking we humans need food, oxygen, water and sleep to survive so perhaps this room service menu was simply making the hard sell to buy food. As far as the broader and more disturbing claims this document makes about its readers, other than my inability to spring for the orange juice, I beg to differ. I won't reveal the identity of this major international hotel chain other than to say it rhymes with "share the fun", so that's what I decided to do. Um.. I think I can see the name.. Sorry to blow up your spot! As someone who is responsible for making sure our labels leave the printer correct....... I hate to say it happens. The key is having a system to catch it. We know a mistake is not a defect until we let it become one. This looks like something from one of the failblog.org sites! You should send it in to them. Poster: Mike | Post Date: February 25, 2011 6:23 AM The beans are spilled by the top-right corner of the menu. I'm guessing they meant to say "enviable"? Poster: Oliver | Post Date: February 25, 2011 10:44 AM Great Find Jon! But I think the Sheraton did themselves in by placing their logo on the top right hand of the menu. Poster: Alex | Post Date: February 25, 2011 11:45 AM Dear Jon, Talk about monkeys gone wild...I think the orange just slipped...inviable isn't it? ;-) Poster: John Santomer | Post Date: February 26, 2011 12:26 AM John. Poster: Joseph | Post Date: February 28, 2011 2:37 PM :-)) Dear Joseph, I beleive the score board should read (Sheraton 1 - 1 Jon [Miller] and Joseph 1).... Hhhhhh! Oh and Joseph ole chap, you can ease up on the stiff lip...I'd take your allowance and hand it over to the American. Wink, wink, ;-)! Alredi had anise day! (Maybe Chef Ramsey could let that slide for now...) Poster: Joihn Santomer | Post Date: March 13, 2011 1:07 AM |

I think the logo on the top right of the menu is a good hint too! Viability is always a good topic of discussion, especially as we continue the climb out of this recession.
Thanks for the chuckle.
